Britains First Commemorative Issue

Britains First Commemorative Issue

Britains first commemorative issue was the 1924 British Empire Exhibition set, commonly referred to by collectors as the "Wembley" set. Designed by Harold Nelson, it was an instant success, and although intended for sale at the Exhibtiion Post Office the demand from collectors forced sales directly to dealers across the Empire. It remains a popular issue with great interest in all aspects including such items as this complete set without perforations tied to a display card by the designers signature!
