Lot 5025 (Sandafayre #5298, 22nd October 2019)
.GENERAL SECTION - OLD & CLASSIC WORLD STAMPS CAT £35,000++ A unique & unusual collection of rather fresh and attractive stamps clipped close to the design by one of those Victorian stamp collectors who loved the designs but had less interest in margins & perforations! Just the sort of great stamps you see pasted into those early Lallier and other first- generation albums but these mounted with old hinges onto 4 pages. Briefly we see 1840's-1860's mint & used stamps including Great Britain 1847-54 10d embossed mint (cat £11500), 1862-64 4d mint (cat £2,000) & 9d mint (cat £4000), Canada 1859 1c, 5c, 10c (cat £1400) & 12½c (cat £1200) all mint, Malta 1860 ½d mint (cat £1300), Sweden 1858-72 to 24o mint, Stockholm locals 1856-62 3o black & 3o bistre mint, Antigua 1862 6d used, Bahamas 1862 to 6d used, Hong Kong 1862-63 to 96c used, Trinidad 1862-63 1s mauve used, St Lucia 1860 6d used, Mauritius 1862 1s used, Tasmania 1853 4d used, Western Australia 1854-55 4d & 1857-59 2d used, USA 1861-62 30c & 90c used, Hawaii 1861-63 2c used, Netherlands 1852 set used, Norway 1855 4s used, Sardinia 1851 20c used, Luxembourg 1852-58 1sgr used, 1859 10c mint, 25c & 37½c used and 30c unused. This is really quite the thing! We doubt many collections still exist like this and the stamps should be found their natural home in an old album. Great fun, cat £35,000+ (approx 100 stamps)
Time left to bid: 8 days, 5 hours and 4 minutes

IN OUR MAIL BID SALES (Sandafayre, Hunters, Kwik-Bid and Express) You can bid directly from each lot, simply add your maximum bid into the “Bid” field and decide if you want to add a bid boost percentage in case you are being beaten and then click “Place Bid”. Your current bids can be found from the drop-down menu beneath your name at the top of the screen.
You can also save the lot onto the ‘Wishlist’ and bid from there. The Wishlist is personal to you and allows you to build a list of all the lots you like before you bid and you can then manage your bidding from the Wishlist. It’s very easy and popular.
Remember to let us know if you have any additional instructions (some bidders who have multiple bids in the same sale may wish to limit their overall total spend or perhaps give us an ‘either / or’ instruction when bidding on similar lots!) You can use the ‘Ask a question’ feature on one of your lots to do this, or send us an email or you can even call the office as we’d love to hear from you!
IN OUR PUBLIC AUCTION (Cheshire Stamp Auctions, once every 3 months) you can leave bids for our auctioneer to manage on your behalf (traditionally called “Commissions Bids”) by bidding from this website up to 30 minutes before the public auction begins (please remember, our buyers premium is 20% which is higher than in our Mail Bid Sales). You can also watch the auction and bid live online from our bidding platform which goes live 30 minutes before the auction but please make sure you are registered and logged in. After 30 minutes before the auction the option to make bids will be suspended and instead you will be enabled to view the live auction and bid if you wish. It doesn't take 5 minutes to get registered with us, just go to the "My Account" link at the top of the screen > "Sign in / Register" > "Create My Account". Unlike most auctions we do not charge any additional fee for online bidding.
You can also contact Trevor Chinery who as an auction agent attends on the auction day and bids on behalf of you as his client. Trevor charges for this service and you can contact him on 07527 444 825.
Remember in a fast- moving public auction it will not be possible for us to manage your total spending limit or other complex instructions so we would recommend bidding live yourself or discussing instructions with your auction agent. We also do not offer a telephone bidding service in the auction room.
