GB.PENNY BLACKS - 1840 (26 Sept) EL from Exeter to Bradford bearing 1d black plate 3 with 4 neat margins & superb complete upright Maltese Cross in reddish orange, alongside a black 'No. 8' local receiving office handstamp and an 'EXETER / SE 26 1840 / Py POST' handstamp in the same reddish orange as the MC (both handstamps being applied at the same time once the cover received from the receiving house, believe by Hake to be South Zeal). A beautiful cover, clean and without filing fold with Mike Jackson certificate. Ex Littaur.
