The Stamps and Postal History of Grenada

Grenada Stamps - As with many other British colonies, from 1858 Grenada initially used stamps of Britain which were cancelled ‘A15’ at St George’s. From 1861 the Grenada Post Office assumed control and subsequently, the first Grenada Stamps, a 1d and 6d featuring the ‘Chalon’ portrait, were introduced. From 1875 additional values were introduced by surcharging an un-denominated stamp, again with the ‘Chalon’ portrait. To date Grenada has become one of the world’s most prolific producers.
