IN OUR MAIL BID SALES (Sandafayre, Hunters, Kwik-Bid and Express) You can bid directly from each lot, simply add your maximum bid into the “Bid” field and decide if you want to add a bid boost percentage in case you are being beaten and then click “Place Bid”. Your current bids can be found from the drop-down menu beneath your name at the top of the screen.
You can also save the lot onto the ‘Wishlist’ and bid from there. The Wishlist is personal to you and allows you to build a list of all the lots you like before you bid and you can then manage your bidding from the Wishlist. It’s very easy and popular.
Remember to let us know if you have any additional instructions (some bidders who have multiple bids in the same sale may wish to limit their overall total spend or perhaps give us an ‘either / or’ instruction when bidding on similar lots!) You can use the ‘Ask a question’ feature on one of your lots to do this, or send us an email or you can even call the office as we’d love to hear from you!
IN OUR PUBLIC AUCTION (Cheshire Stamp Auctions, once every 3 months) you can leave bids for our auctioneer to manage on your behalf (traditionally called “Commissions Bids”) by bidding from this website up to 30 minutes before the public auction begins (please remember, our buyers premium is 20% which is higher than in our Mail Bid Sales). You can also watch the auction and bid live online from our bidding platform which goes live 30 minutes before the auction but please make sure you are registered and logged in. After 30 minutes before the auction the option to make bids will be suspended and instead you will be enabled to view the live auction and bid if you wish. It doesn't take 5 minutes to get registered with us, just go to the "My Account" link at the top of the screen > "Sign in / Register" > "Create My Account". Unlike most auctions we do not charge any additional fee for online bidding prior to the live start of the auction.
You can also contact Trevor Chinery who as an auction agent attends on the auction day and bids on behalf of you as his client. Trevor charges for this service and you can contact him on 07527 444 825.
Remember in a fast- moving public auction it will not be possible for us to manage your total spending limit or other complex instructions so we would recommend bidding live yourself or discussing instructions with your auction agent. We also do not offer a telephone bidding service in the auction room.
