IN OUR MAIL BID SALES (Sandafayre, Hunters, Kwik-Bid and Express)  You can bid directly from each lot, simply add your maximum bid into the “Bid” field and decide if you want to add a bid boost percentage in case you are being beaten and then click “Place Bid”. IN OUR PUBLIC AUCTION (Cheshire Stamp Auctions, once every 3 months) you can leave bids for our auctioneer to manage on your behalf (traditionally called “Commissions Bids”) by bidding from this website up to 30 minutes before the public auction begins (please remember, our buyers premium is 20% which is higher than in our Mail Bid Sales). You can also watch the auction and bid live online from our bidding platform which goes live 30 minutes before the auction but please make sure you are registered and logged in. After 30 minutes before the auction the option to make bids will be suspended and instead you will be enabled to view the live auction and bid if you wish. It doesn't take 5 minutes to get registered with us, just go to the "My Account" link at the top of the screen > "Sign in / Register" > "Create My Account". Unlike most auctions we do not charge any additional fee for online bidding prior to the live start of the auction.

The 3.6% fee we charge is exactly that charged to us by the live auction hosting company for this facility.
We make no profit from the additional 3.6% fee charged to you.

Remember in a fast- moving public auction it will not be possible for us to manage your total spending limit or other complex instructions so we would recommend bidding live yourself or discussing instructions with your auction agent. Highlights from our 5323 auction include:

  • Bahamas Stamps: A wide selection of items for 1860's to 1970's with collections mint and used, large and small, and sets and singles with attractive 'Chalon' types, Specimen overprints, varieties and errors etc.
  • Ascension Island Stamps: The sale features 1922 overprints on St Helena, 1924-33 Badge of St Helena issues including plate varieties 'Torn Flag', 'Broken Mainmast etc, KGVI varieties and some useful small and medium collections.
  • French Colonies Stamps: A wide range of items of Gabon (including the scarce 1888-89 25 on 75c rose used), Guiana, Indo-China, Martinique and Syria among others with mint and used collections, postal history, proofs etc.
  • Great Britain Stamps: In this sale we have a good range of 1840 1d black plates, later QV surface-printed issues to £1 and an interesting group of KGV booklet panes including a particularly fine 1924 1½d red brown (SG NB15) as well as fine collections of 'Seahorses', QEII booklets, 'Four kings' etc.
  • Italy and Italian Colonies Stamps: A diverse offering from early Telegraph stamp essays to modern 'Castles' definitive errors. Also includes collections from the colonies including Dodecanes Is, Eritrea, Levant, Libya, POs in China, Tripolitania etc.
  • Tonga Stamps: An attractive selection of 19th and early 20th century issues including a small 1886-88 King Georg I collection, 1893-97 bisects, 1899 Royal Wedding Essays, 1920-35 Queen issues and a number of interesting covers, air letters, 'Tin Can' mail etc.
  • United States Stamps: We have a number of attractive and mint collections along with early 'Washingtons' and 'Franklins' plus Newspaper stamps 'Duck' stamps and an attractive range of Palau imperf proofs of the early 2000's.
