A modern classic, the Australian 1950, £2 green, features a beautifully engraved Commonwealth Coat of Arms. It is the top value of the 1949-51 high values set and can be found with a prominent 'Roller Flaw' variety below the 'E' of 'POSTAGE'. This was caused by damage to the original roller die, as it was used to crease to a final steel plate.
The variety, which was later retouched, occurs twice in a sheet of 60 at positions 4 & 6. Hunted by collectors for over 50 years, this flaw has become increasingly elusive.
