Problems adding lots to Shopping Basket

Some users find that our site doesn't function correctly when they try and add lots to their shopping basket. For example, clicking the Add to Basket link on the Lot Details Page displays the message "This lot has been added to your basket" but when the Shopping Basket screen is accessed, the lots aren't there.

This, and other problems experienced on our site, are often down to what we call "cookies" being disabled in the users web browser. A cookie is a small text file that we store on your computers hard disk when you visit our site - it enables us to remember certain details about you which we need to ensure our site works effectively - for example, which lots you've added to your shopping basket.
