Understanding
lot details
Clicking on a lot number for any particular lot takes you to the Lot
Details page. Here you will find all the information about the lot,
and in most cases an image.
The following information is displayed on the Lot Details page:
Lot number
The unique number given to a lot.
Country
The country where the lot is from. You may see General Section
here, lots in this category are usually mixed lots unless otherwise stated
in the lot description. Lots under Special Section have an additional
heading which will explain which country they are from, or it will be
mentioned in the description.
Lot type
A brief description of how the lot is contained:-
Singles and Sets are always in small plastic wallets.
Lots in folders are generally on loose leaves or sheets, and are
usually in cardboard folders.
Lots in albums is self explanatory!
Lot in boxes can be anything form large cartons and suitcases,
to small show boxes and tins!
Guide Price
The guide price is what we've estimated the lot is worth and should be used
as a guide when bidding.
Description
A full description of the lot as written by our philatelists. Abbreviations
are often used in our descriptions, click
here for a list of abbreviations and what they stand for.
Auction date
The date the auction closes. You have until this date to submit your bids
Thumbnail
image
If you see a small (thumbnail) image at the top of the page, simply click
on it for a larger view.
Other
links you will see
You will see an Add to Basket icon. Clicking
this icon will add the lot to your shopping basket. See the tutorial on
the Shopping basket feature for more information.
There is also a Mail details to a friend link. Once on this screen,
all you have to do is fill in the relevant information, and the lot details
will be automatically sent; you can even enter a message if you want!
