CHINA - 1878 TO 1975 SUBSTANTIAL COLLECTION in an album, contains mint, never hinged mint and fine used stamps and sets starting with the 1878 3ca brown-red Large Dragon used, several Small Dragons m & u, 1894 Dowager 6ca (m & u), 9ca & 12ca brown- orange used (small thin), then an interesting group of forgeries of the 1878-1894 issues arranged by types; then onward with a range of the 1897 surcharges (best 10c on 9ca used SG 44 with faults), other 19th Century issues incl 1898 $1 deep red and salmon mint SG 117 faults, then 1900-06 No Wmk set fine used to $2, 1912 Republic opts incl London vals to $1 used, 1912 Commem the Revolution mint set to 50c, Revolution used range to 50c & $1 (thin), the scarce 1921 Air set mint small part OG SG 352/56, 1929 $1 scarlet Unification used SG 379, 1929 Burial set mint no gum SG 380/83, the 1930's/40's well-represented incl complex areas identified by SG number; Peoples Republic well- represented although the earliest issues are often reprints but quickly we see many better stamps / sets amongst strong ranges such as (for example) 1959 20f 10th Anniv used, 1960 Goldfish set used SG 1911/22, Chrysanthemum set used, 1962 Stage Art set (ex 30c) used, Scientists set mint, 1963 Giant Pandas 10f perf mint & imperf used, Monkeys set mint, Hwangshan Landscapes set used, 1964 Chemical Industry set, 1965 Mountains 8f values (3) mint, Mountaineering Achievements set used, reprints of the very valuable 1967-68 issues (such as the 1968 8f "The Whole Country is Red"), some used stamps include the 1967 8f Thoughts of Mao first issue & 8f Talks on Literature SG 2359, later includes 1972 Merchant Shipping mint set, 1972 Wang Chi-hsi mint, 1973 Working Womans Day, Childrens Day strip 5, Table Tennis set mint,Treasures set never hinged mint, 1974 Popular Gymnastics set mint, Acrobats set mint, 1975 Congress set mint SG 2597/99 PLUS SO MUCH MORE. A lovely collection, some faults usually on the earliest issues but chiefly very fine and fresh with many good stamps seen. Highly recommended (approx 1500 stamps)
